When to move on after the death of a pet

Sorry for your loss. I know what that feels like, my bulldog died 2 weeks before her 10th birthday. I was truely devastated. I actually got on a pet chat I believe was petloss.com (I think). I mainly just got on and watched what other people said and jumped in periodically, as no one really knows the depth of the loss we feel except other people that loved and lost a pet too. For me, that helped.
After 5 months, I decided I wanted to get another dog, as I truely felt I gave my dog a great life, and wanted that companionship again. But for me, I had to do the extreme opposite, had to be another color, breed, sex,etc. You will soon see Cheryl that once your new cats personality shows through, that they are not a replacement but an addition and you will love it the same if not more. THere are so many animals left out there to love, people like us are their hope. Dont feel guilty, just take one day at a time.
